6For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. 8The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. 9The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
Why did God devote nine chapters of the Bible to an in-depth description of the millennial temple? He tells us the dimensions and the components of the temple structure, among other things. This will be the world headquarters for 1,000 years, and then the headquarters of the universe for all eternity! This temple will fill this world with the wonderful truth of God after millennia of darkness.
The Temple will be on much higher ground than it is today, because of future changes to the landscape in Jerusalem due to Earthquakes. The whole area, Ezekiel tells us, will be on a high elevation and the area around it will become a flattened plain.
The Temple area itself will be about 1.7 km x 1.7 km x 1.7 km x 1.7 km.
The temple described in Ezekiel chapters 40-48 will be built immediately after Jesus Christ returns.
